7 things to do and hear in tucson

Spending summer time in Tuscon, Arizona? We are! Tons of exciting events are happening throughout the year in this beautiful, sunny city. You’ll want to get your hearing aids tuned in for these as you won’t want to miss any of the action. Read on about the many entertainment options available this summer in the city we call our home.

Music Festivals in Tucson

First up on our itinerary is 2nd Saturdays Downtown. This is where you find the hottest live music and a wide array of entertainment options. From children’s activities to a Reggae band, geometric series and even an underwear party, this downtown venue has got it all! While you’re there make sure you purchase a raffle ticket to be entered to win the 50th Anniversary Edition of the 2015 Mustang. An entire day and night to fill your ears with beautiful music and lively conversations sponsored by local Tucson businesses.

In the mood for something a little more smooth? A date night idea perhaps? Look no further than Friday Night Live! At Main Gate Square. The traditional jazz beats will be brought to you by local jazz bands from U of A students and native Arizona jazz players. Bring your appetite because this event will also feature the best dishes from restaurants around Tucson. You might even be interviewed by the Fox 11 News crew!

If you act fast you can still get tickets to An Intimate Evening with Art Garfunkel at the Fox Theatre. As half of Simon and Garfunkel, Art will greet your sense of hearing with his extraordinary singing voice, poetry and captivating stories. In addition to the hits like Sound of Silence, you’ll hear songs from his solo career that are sure to become your new favorites.

Fun For The Whole Family in Tucson

If you’ve got the grandkids here for summer vacation, make sure to check out all of the family focused events Tucson is hosting. MLB fans ages 6-14 are sure to love the Diamond Backs Baseball Academy. With a curriculum for both boys and girls designed to maximize participation, this will be the highlight of any child’s summer vacation. Youngsters are sure to come home with tons of stories they can’t wait to share with you!

Relax with the family under a star-lit sky at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. This attraction stays open on Saturday nights so the nocturnal animals can be enjoyed on these cool summer evenings. Bring the kids out to learn about bats, fluorescent minerals and animal eye-shine. The after-dark activities are now through September.

Movies And Shows

On rotating Friday nights take advantage of the free admission to movies in the park. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, some popcorn and your favorite cuddle partner for an old-fashioned movie watching experience. You’ll want to get there early to get a good seat as these fill up fast. If background noise makes it hard for you to understand the movie, be sure to sit as far up front as possible.

Join us for a night of nostalgia on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm for classic movies in the great outdoors. The bargain price of $3 gets you a seat and popcorn to enjoy the oldies but goodies right here in downtown Tucson. What are you waiting for? These cool, clear nights are calling for you.

As you can see, there are oodles of events and attractions that will put your hearing aids to the test. Bring extra batteries, maybe some sunscreen and get out there and enjoy the fun!

We invite you to schedule a clean and check for your hearing aids. We will make sure you are ready to hear all that Tucson has to offer.
